The flu and the common cold are both respiratory illnesses that are caused by different viruses.  Typically, flu symptoms will make an individual feel worse than the symptoms associated with the common cold.

If you suspect that you or your child has the flu, call your doctor.  If your child has the flu, remember he or she will be required to be fever-free for 24 hours without medication before returning to school!
